We have a friendly bellringing team at Christ Church (its
not us on the right ! ) and normally ring on Wednesday
evening from 8pm to 9pm and on Sunday mornings from 10am
to 10.30am.

| Bellringing is an ancient English art that still plays an important role in
church life today. The present method of change-ringing began in England in
the 17th Century. The bells are hung so that they can be swung through a
full 360 degrees to be struck individually in sequence, rather than randomly
as on the continent. For ringers bellringing is a challenge to master both
the physical handling of the bell and also the mental challenge of learning
the "music". |
