'Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set and example for the believers in speech, in life, in love and in purity'
(1 Timothy 4:12)

Our Vision
At Christ Church we aim to provide the young people of our congregation and parish with a safe, positive and fun environment in which they can feel accepted and valued, learn about the Christian faith, encounter God, deepen their faith and fulfil their potential as followers of Christ.

Our Organisation
There have always been young people coming to Christ Church and therefore there has always been a youth ministry. However, over the years this work of this ministry has become more time-consuming so we employed a full-time youth worker who has now moved on. In the interim we have a team of experienced leaders running our groups.

Our Purpose
At Christ Church Youth Ministry we have five purposes which are based on two passages from the book of Matthew in the New Testament:

The Greatest Commandment (22:37-40)
The Great Commission (28:19-20)

Worship: 'Love the Lord your God'
Ministry: 'Love your neighbour as yourself'
Evangelism: 'Go and make disciples'
Fellowship: 'Baptising them'
Discipleship: 'Teaching them to obey'

In these five purposes one can also find the five stages through which a young person progresses as they become a Christian through a youth ministry and which are reflected in our vision:

Fellowship: Feeling accepted and valued
Evangelism: Learning about Christianity
Worship: Encountering God
Discipleship: Deepening of faith
Ministry: Fulfilling of potential.

As well as the groups below, we also have strong links with our local junior school, (Christ Church C of E) and two of our local secondary schools (Jubilee High School and Fullbrook).
