MESSY CHURCH
CHRIST CHURCH, OTTERSHAW

Dates: Sunday 11th September, 9th October, 13th November and 11th December.
Start time: 4pm to 5.30pm.
Venue: Christ Church, Ottershaw.

In December we had Christmas Messy Church. There was lots of Messy Crafts to help us remember the Christmas Story, we made a 'hand print' stable, some lovely Christmassy Candles and clay candle holders. A yummy gingerbread shepherd was our cooking craft. We made a beautiful crib scene using lolly pop sticks, and a wonderful paper plate Angel.
This year we celebrated the birth of Jesus by hearing this familiar story told by three sheep called, Lamby, Sheepy and Pork Chop, who got a bit worried when the Shepherds left them to go to Bethlehem to see the new born King, so they followed to the stable and saw the baby Jesus.
All of this was followed by a yummy party tea!

At Messy Church in October we had lots of fun finding out all about the 'God's Armour of Light' (Eph 6:10-20) . During the worship time we were joined by the puppets who helped us sing songs all about the light of Jesus. Our crafts included, Bookmark swords, Helmets, Belts - for our armour, a prayer box and a delicious tasty soldier made of little finger sponges, chocolate fingers for arms & legs, a marshmallow head and a biscuit shield. Everyone enjoyed delicious Pasta Bolognese for tea with garlic bread.

August's Messy Church was held outdoors, where we painted a rocket, made prayer puppets, cut out our hand shapes for a praises wall, thought about the environment, wondered about creation and got very wet transporting water. There was a visit to our new bug hotel and a fizzy prayer time.

Every month we have lots of music, fun, craft and food.
