Rev Mark Potter
Mark joined Christ Church in September 2022 as his first post as a vicar. He is married to Charlotte with two children. He loves telling people about the good news of Jesus’ love for them. He loves music, film and comedy and enjoys playing
drums. He is also an avid Sheffield United supporter.
Locally Ordained Minister
Licensed Lay Minister (LLM)
Nigel preaches on an occasional basis and helps lead services from time to time. In addition to this, he is kept busy with various part time roles and three energetic grandchildren.
Monica lives in Ottershaw with her partner, her two grown up boys and a very lively Labrador! She trained as a nursery nurse and Forest School practitioner before taking up the role at Christ Church.
Mandi has 4 grown-up children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She retired from being a TEFL teacher and after working with young people for some years, took over running the Youth Groups and School Faith Clubs at Christ Church, over twenty years ago. In her spare time she enjoys reading and going to the theatre.
Director of Music
Adam has been organist and led worship at Christ Church since 2007. While classically trained, he is also in a rock ‘n’ roll band, and once played keyboards for Ishmael. His day job is being a full-time maths teacher, trainer and explainer.
Denise has been attending Christ Church since 1987 and is a member of the Events Committee and the PCC. As a member of Christ Church Music Group, she helps lead singing during Sunday services. Denise enjoys singing with Weybridge Rock Choir, watching Richmond Rugby, travelling, theatre trips and has a keen interest in photography. Denise has 2 grown up daughters and 3 grandchildren.
Bob has worshipped at Christ Church since 2015. He was elected as Church Warden in 2020, and also serves as member of the Premises Committee and as Deanery Synod representative. He is one of the lead singers at Sunday services, as a member of the Christ Church Music Group. Bob is an enthusiastic member of the Weybridge Rock Choir and long-time supporter of Richmond Rugby Club.
Roger is a retired Chartered Accountant who has worked for many years in the Charity sector. His interests include family, grandchildren and following sports generally. He is a lifelong Ottershaw resident and church member.
Parish Magazine Editor
Melanie co-ordinates articles from people within the Parish and puts the magazine together - there are 6 editions a year. She retired as a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in deaf children in 2022. She enjoys walking, cooking and travelling as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Church Operations Administrator
Chloe joined Christ Church in July 2019 and is the first port of call for enquiries. She works closely with the team to ensure the smooth running of the church. Chloe enjoys singing with the Woking Rock Choir and also runs a support group called The Beautiful Minds Family for parents of neurodivergent children.
